In order for us to be able to drastically reduce the amount of greenhouse-gases, we need significant change in approaching the problem and the key is in the hands of the young. We believe that through its sensibility, this generation may play an important role in the slow-down and reversal of global warming. The Vegyél Vissza! (Cut Back!) programme, fighting against climate change carries on the legacy of Carbon Club initiative which was launched by Vertis in 2003. The main goal of Vegyél Vissza! is to address the young generation, the decision makers of the future: climate change is an existing problem that needs joint effort. The program lists 10 features of life that one may easily cut back on. |

Founders Thanks to the alliance of Magyar Telekom, Ringier, Vertis Environmental Finance and Amrop Hever, the programme was launched in March 2008. The aim of the non-profit organization is to make the Vegyél Vissza! initiative turn into some kind of a net where the main message is created with the co-operation of well-known associations from the fields of climate and consumer protection. In the year 2009 OBI has become one of the main supporters of the initiative. | Activities The main activities of Vegyél Vissza! include organizing film projections and interactive presentations in secondary schools and universities, participating in road shows, joining international initiatives such as Earth Day, establishing an online knowledge-centre, announcing and organizing competitions in schools (Recycle! Neutralize! Recreate!, photo tenders and creativity competitions), launching wide communication campaigns together with media partners that support the initiative. |
