International Emissions Trading - the trading of sovereign Kyoto instruments known as Assigned Amount Units (AAUs) - is still in its infancy, but its birthplace is Central and Eastern Europe. 

Vertis is currently working with governments to structure AAU transactions and Green Investment Schemes.

AAU and GIS services

Vertis is ideally placed to provide the following services in regard of AAUs:

• Advising governments on Kyoto compliance and AAU trading strategies
• Structuring and implementation of national Green Investment Schemes (GIS) to ensure that AAU trades are "greened", that is have the level of environmental integrity required by buyers of AAUs
• Using our fund management experience, management of Green Investment Schemes

• Brokering of transactions between governments either representing buyers or sellers, including access to decision makers to win acceptance and go-ahead for deals.
